LANCASTER, Pa.– An 18-year-old Manheim Central High School student is being charged with making threats at a graduation practice on Thursday, referring to the 1999 Columbine School Shootings.
Colton Yeager is facing two felony counts of terroristic threats and being held on $1 million bail after his statements caused an evacuation and search of the graduation site, while also delaying Thursday’s graduation ceremony.
The site, Lancaster County Bible Church on Mount Joy Road, was searched and there was no plot or plan of violence discovered. The graduation ceremony has been rescheduled for Friday night.
On Thursday, police were notified that Yeager made statements about the 1999 shootings at Columbine High School during graduation practice. A student overheard Yeager and confirmed his statements. The student told Yeager, “If you are going to shoot up graduation tonight, don’t shoot me.” Yeager replied, “no promises.”
The student recalled a conversation with Yeager in May, when he referred to himself as Eric Harris, who was one of the Columbine Shooters.
In an interview with police, Yeager admitted to making the statements at graduation practice.
