DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. – Swatara Township Police catch a break in their investigation of recent thefts from vehicles that included the removal of wheels and tires.

During the overnight hours of Saturday, June 11, police patrol units were conducting surveillance in Paxtang Borough.

At approximately 1:05 a.m. police observed Jorge Luis Vazquez-Hernandez looking into vehicles parked along the 3000 block of Duke Street. The officers made contact with the suspect who immediately attempted to flee from the scene.

The officers pursued and apprehended Vazquez-Hernandez who was wearing gloves and had a mask on his person.

Charges against Vazquez-Hernandez include Possessing Instruments of Crime, Flight to Avoid Apprehension, Loitering and Prowling at night and Criminal Attempt Theft From Motor Vehicle.  Following arraignment he was sent to Dauphin County Prison in lieu of $25,000.00 bail.
