YORK CITY, Pa- Police are looking for a man after they believe he shot another man in the face, starting a violent day in York last week. The victim was one of eight people who was shot and injured on Thursday, June 9th.
According to York City Police, James “Scotty” McMillan is facing charges of attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault, carrying a firearm without a license and prohibited possession of a firearm after he shot Rashon Smallwood in the face the last Thursday morning.
Charging documents state, McMillan and Smallwood got into a fight at a Pandoras Box, located at 466 E. Market Street, just before 2:00 a.m. Smallwood told police, he was walking from the bar near State Street when McMillan approached him from behind and pointed a gun at him. McMillan fired several shots from about 7 yards away before pausing and shooting two more times, hitting Smallwood on the left side of the face.
After Smallwood was shot, he walked to 520 E. Philadelphia Street where he was met by an ambulance and taken to the hospital. Smallwood was able to identify McMillan from an 8 person picture lineup, police said.
Police say McMillan did have a license to carry which expired in July 2014. He also plead guilty to felony drug charges, violating him from carrying a hand gun.
Police do have an arrest warrant out for McMillan, if you know his whereabouts police urge residents to call 911.
