DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. –  The trial of Shawn McCoy continues in a Dauphin County courtroom today.  The 21 year old Harrisburg man is charged with robbery and attempted homicide.

McCoy is accused of robbing two victims on April 8, 2015 on Verbeke Street.  He is also accused of shooting at Harrisburg Police Officer Angel Diaz, who was pursuing a vehicle in which McCoy was a passenger.

It is alleged that while Officer Diaz was following the vehicle, McCoy began firing shots at Officer Diaz.  During today’s court proceedings, Dauphin County First Assistant District Attorney Francis T. Chardo played for the jury the radio call conversation between Officer Diaz and a Dauphin County communications control officer.

In the recording, Officer Diaz can be heard narrating his pursuit of the suspicious vehicle and the recording captures the moment when the officer realizes an occupant of the vehicle is shooting at him.  An excerpt of the recording introduced in court today is attached.
