UPPER ALLEN TWP., Cumberland County, Pa — A Shiremanstown man is arrested after police say he struck a child. Tyler Baney was arrested and charged with Simple Assault, Endangering Welfare of Children, and Harassment. Police were called to a home on June 20th for an incident that happened the day before, Father’s Day. According to court documents, a five year old boy turned a television off so the men gathered at a home on the 2100 block of Hastings Drive could take a Father’s Day photograph. Someone turned the tv back on and the boy got upset, at which point Baney struck the child in the face, causing substantial bruising and swelling to the child’s left eye.

Tyler Baney was arrested and transported to the Cumberland County Prison for processing and arraignment. A preliminary hearing will be scheduled before Magisterial District Judge Martin at a future date.
