Red Lion couple charged for leaving infant in car while they stole items from a yard sale

RED LION, Pa- A Red Lion couple has been arrested and charged after they were caught stealing from a yard sale and leaving their baby in a hot car a block away.

Trep Swanson, 43, and Sherica Eggleston, 29, both of 833 Delta Road, are being charged with endangering the welfare of a child by a parent or guardian, theft, and burglary.

According to charging documents, on June 17th Troopers were called to the 100 block of S. Franklin Street in Red Lion.  When Troopers arrived they spoke to the victim who said a male and female stole a wooden curio cabinet from her yard sale without paying for it.

She positively identified both Swanson and Eggleston as the suspects.

According to court documents, while troopers were taking the pair into custody they were told by witnesses at the scene that a child belonging to the couple was left unattended inside a car a block away.

Police found the child, who was under the age of two, sitting in the car with the windows up, and the doors locked.

Police removed the child from the hot car and the child was hot and sweaty to touch.

The cabinet was returned to the victim.
