GRANVILLE TOWNSHIP, Pa.–A child was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday in Mifflin County.

It happened shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday along Belle Avenue in Granville Township.

Investigators say Robin Rhodes, of Lewistown, was driving south on Belle Avenue when she hit a small child getting out of a parked vehicle along the road.

The unidentified child was thrown 20 to 25 feet through the air before landing on the roadway, according to the Granville Township Police Department.

The child was taken to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital for treatment.

Police say the accident is still under investigation and criminal actions are pending.
