CARLISLE, Pa.– Police arrested a man after hiding in a home during an hour and a half standoff with officers.

Michael Evans, who had been wanted for firing two shots in front of the Haines Stackfield American Legion in Carlisle, was arrested after officers surrounded the residence of a woman he was staying with.

At 2:55 p.m. on July 14, police surrounded the residence at 35 W. North St. in Carlisle. After making their presence known, the female occupant exited. However, Evans remained inside the home and refused to comply with the requests of the officers.

After almost an hour and a half of waiting, officers searched the home and found Evans trying to hide inside.

He was taken into custody and transported to Cumberland County Booking.
