NEWBERRY TWP., York County, Pa. — A van carrying inmates was involved in a crash on I-83 in York County this morning. It happened around 11am near mile marker 32 of I-83 northbound. A man driving a Chevy Cavalier didn’t see the van when he changed lanes and clipped the front of the van. The van was from the Maryland Dept of Corrections and was carrying 9 inmates and 2 corrections officers. Both vehicles struck the center median. There were no major injuries, but the Cavalier, driven by a 21 year-old man from Kentucky, had to be towed from the scene.
