Serious crash in Lancaster County sends three people to hospital

EAST DONEGAL TWP., Lancaster County, Pa. — Susquehanna Regional Police are investigating a crash that happened Sunday evening in East Donegal Township. Two of the passengers in the vehicle sustained serious life threatening injuries from the accident. The initial investigation indicates the vehicle, driven by a 17 year-old boy from Elizabethtown, was heading east on Rock Point Rd. and passed another vehicle traveling in the same direction. The driver then swerved to avoid another vehicle traveling the opposite direction. The driver lost control and the vehicle  rolled over. The passengers were ejected from the vehicle, which came to rest in a cornfield just off the roadway. The driver of the vehicle was flown to Hershey Medical Center. One passenger, Nickolus Ryan Bixler, 22, was transported by ambulance to Hershey Med. A third passenger, an unidentified female, was taken by ambulance to Lancaster General Hospital.

Police initially suspected that there may have been a fourth passenger in the vehicle. Nearby fields were searched by fire department personnel and a State Police helicopter was used as well.

The unidentified female is described as being in her mid 20’s, with blonde hair, hazel eyes, about 5’ tall, 120 lbs. Anyone with information on the female is asked to call Susquehanna Regional Police.

Assisting Susquehanna Regional Police beside the State Police, were members of the Northwest Crash Team, Maytown/E. Donegal Township Fire Department, Pioneer Fire Department (Marietta).
The crash remains under investigation.
