TEMPS ON THE RISE: A strong ridge of high pressure out west begins building back into the region on Thursday. The day starts pleasant with plenty of sunshine. The sun stays with us through the day, but there are other changes. The humidity levels nudge up, and so do temperatures. Highs are in the middle 80s to near 90 degrees.
NEXT WEEK: On Monday, the next cold front moves through, and this brings the chance for widespread afternoon showers and thunderstorms. It’s still hot and humid, with afternoon temperatures reaching the 90s before storms form. The front is gone by Tuesday, so sunny conditions return and last through Wednesday. It’s not as hot, with temperatures near 90 degrees.
