SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Two people are dead in an apparent murder/suicide this morning in Schuylkill County.
Pennsylvania State Police identified the deceased victim as Robert Eli Greene, 63 of Lehighton, and the deceased shooter as Scott Allen Baver, 46, of Orwigsburg.
Investigators say at about 7:30 a.m. this morning, Baver parked his personal vehicle in the parking lot of Joe’s Used Auto Parts, 2401 Summer Valley Road, New Ringgold, where he was formerly employed. As Greene, a current employee, walked toward the main building, Baver got out of his vehicle and shoot Greene multiple times with a handgun. Baver then fled the scene in his vehicle.
Police say Baver drove west on Route 443, and eventually drove onto a dirt lane about 3 miles west of New Ringgold. He got out of his vehicle and shot himself.
A State Troopers found the vehicle and Baver’s body.
Both men were pronounced dead at their respective locations by the Deputy Schuylkill County Coroner Joseph Pothering.
