LANCASTER, Pa.– A Lancaster man who shot five people nine years ago will not receive relief from his 100-year prison sentence.

Mark Galloway, 48, was sentenced to 41 ½ to 100 years in 2008 for shooting his ex-girlfriend, her mother, daughter, 2-year-old grandson and a family friend on Hand Avenue in 2007. He pleaded guilty to four counts of attempted homicide, five counts of aggravated assault and other related offenses.

Now, Galloway argues that witnesses lied and there were improprieties on behalf of police and prosecutors.

On Monday, the Pennsylvania Superior Court ruled that Galloway’s challenge of his conviction is too late.

Assistant District Attorney Travis Anderson said that the challenge needed to be made within a year of his conviction becoming final.
