Party conventions in the 2016 presidential campaign season have been anything but dull.

While the Democratic National Convention just kicked off at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia yesterday, day one immediately revealed division within Democrat Party followers. US Senator Bernie Sanders, of Vermont, continues to have a loyal base, who booed in protest of delegate support for presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. The boos came on the heels of Wikileaks leaked nearly 20,000 internal emails, which showed officials working against Sanders in the primary.

Republicans wrapped up their convention last week in Cleveland, Ohio, but not without party division, as well. Former Texas US Sen. Ted Cruz said he refused to endorse Republican nominee Donald Trump, who received overwhelming delegate support. Cruz said he was “not in the habit of backing politicians who attack his family.”
