EAST LAMPETER TWP., Pa. -- Republican Vice Presidential Nominee Mike Pence made a campaign stop in Lancaster County Tuesday.

The Indiana governor held a town hall to explain how Donald Trump will get the nation "back on the right track."

Hundreds of people came to the Lancaster host Resort and Conference Center to hear Pence speak.

Many people at the rally said Trump did a great job picking his running mate.

Christopher Tongel, from Lancaster, said, "He made a fantastic decision. Reagan conservative, bringing back common sense conservatism, restoring the party of Lincoln and Reagan following this horrific Obama administration."

In his speech, Pence said this presidential election is especially important because the next president may appoint at least one Supreme court justice.

"Let's decide here and now in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, that the next president making appointments to the Supreme Court of the United States of America is President Donald Trump," Pence said.

He said the Trump administration would lower taxes for working families and small businesses, defeat ISIS and rebuild the military. He said Trump will also support law enforcement.

"President Donald Trump will stand with the men and women in our law enforcement community. He will provide the resources they need to protect our families and come home safe to theirs," Pence said.

During a question and answer session, a boy told Pence his father is dying from ALS.

Melissa Reed, from Wyomissing, said, "They're trying to get some legislation passed. And for Mike Pence to come down and just hug the little boy and spend time with him is probably the most emotional experience I've seen in person."

Many people at the rally think Pence pulled at the heartstrings of the audience.

Courtney Reed, also from Wyomissing, said, "He acted like a person versus a politician. You really got to know him, he was down to earth and he really connected with the audience."

Pence also spoke in Pittsburgh Tuesday night and will be in Ohio Wednesday.
