HARRISBURG, Pa. – Police say a woman was raped at gunpoint in her Harrisburg apartment on Monday night.

Officers responded at about 10:47 p.m. to the 1300 block of Kittatinny Street for a report of a robbery.  The victim said that she had just moved into the apartment the night before with her husband and children.

She said that about 10:20 p.m. while in the apartment with her children, a Hispanic male entered through the front door displaying a handgun.  Upon seeing the gun, the victim pleaded for the suspect not to hurt her or her children.

The suspect then escorted the victim  to another room and sexually assaulted and raped her.  As the suspect was leaving he took a necklace and money.  He then fled the area.

The suspect is described as a heavy set Hispanic male about 6 feet tall, with graying hair.  He had a short beard/stubble, and wore a grey shirt, and blue jeans.  Information received indicates that he may sell sneakers on the streets.

Anyone that has information regarding the incident is asked to call police at (717) 558-6900 and ask for a detective or supervisor.
