BELLEFONTE, Pa., -- Former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky is expected to testify at his appeals hearing scheduled for Friday morning.  It is the first time the 72-year old will take the stand, after not doing so during his 2012 trial.

Sandusky was convicted four years ago for sexually abusing 10 boys and was sentenced to at least 30 years in prison. Sandusky filed the appeal for the conviction claiming his trial lawyers were ineffective and several errors were made in his 2012 trial.

According to court documents, some of the topics expected to be discussed include remarks made by the prosecution during their closing arguments in 2012, claims his trial counsel was ineffective for not calling him to testify, for their decision to waive his preliminary trial and also for allowing him to do a network interview.

Friday's hearing is one of 3 hearings scheduled by the judge. The other hearings will take place August 22nd and 23rd. The hearing on Friday starts at 9:30 at the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte.
