RIO DE JANIERO, Brazil– Olympic medalist Ryan Lochte and three fellow U.S. swimmers were robbed at gunpoint in Rio De Janeiro on Sunday.

The U.S. Olympic Committee says the four U.S. athletes were in a taxi that was pulled over by robbers who were posing as police. Lochte says the robbers ordered everyone to get to the ground. He initially refused, but one of the robbers then put a gun to his forehead. The attackers took the athletes’ wallets and cellphones, but no one was injured. Lochte was in the taxi with swimmers Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger and Jimmy Feigen.

The city’s police department has opened an investigation into the incident.
