SILVER SPRING TOWNSHIP, Pa.–A Lewistown woman has been charged with homicide by vehicle in an Aug. 5 crash that claimed the life of a Mechanicsburg man.

Brenda Lee Aumiller, 55,  is charged with homicide by vehicle, homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, involuntary manslaughter, recklessly endangering another person, DUI and other traffic violations. She was arraigned on Aug. 12 and taken to Cumberland County Prison in lieu of $250,000 bail.

Silver Spring Township police say Aumiller was driving the wrong way on Route 114 when she crashed into a vehicle driven by Roberto Cheodetti and passenger, Rodney Morton, both from Mechanicsburg.

Morton suffered major head trauma and died while en route to the hospital, according to the criminal complaint.

Aumiller suffered a wrist injury and was taken to a local hospital. While inside the ambulance, EMS detected an odor of alcohol coming from Aumiller, court documents state.

Aumiller told police she drank four Coors Lights at Hollywood Casino prior to getting behind the wheel, according to the criminal complaint.

Investigators say Aumiller had a blood-alcohol level of .183 percent.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 24.
