Search for armed man in robbery at Zales Diamond store in Tanger Outlet

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. – A manhunt for the suspect in the armed robbery of a jewelry store.  East Lampeter Township responded at about 9:35 a.m. to an armed robbery at the Zales Diamond store in the Tanger Outlet complex.

Police say a black male with his face covered entered the store with a firearm. He escaped with an undetermined amount of merchandise.  The suspect is described as a black male, 20 – 30 years old, short, with a stocky build and close cropped hair.  He was wearing a white tank top with shorts.

A description of the suspect was broadcasted.

A short while later Strasburg Borough Police observed a suspect matching the description driving through the Borough.  The suspect sped away from pursuing police units.   The pursuit continued through multiple jurisdictions, into Christiana Borough, where the suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot into nearby woods.

Multiple Police Agencies are currently searching the area along with a Pennsylvania State Police helicopter, along with State Police from the Lancaster barracks, and the Avondale barracks, Lancaster County Sheriff Office canines, West Sadsbury Township Police, and West Fallowfield Police departments.
