Stolen dog returned to Humane Society of Harrisburg Area

SWATARA TOWNSHIP, Pa.–A dog stolen from the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, Inc. (HSHA) has been returned.

Pac Sun, a 5-year-old Yellow Labrador Retriever, was taken from the facility located along the 7700 block of Grayson Road in Swatara Township on Aug. 7.  Employees told police they discovered the dog was missing from his kennel when they arrived at work around 7:52 a.m. They also noticed that a back door to the building was propped open.

The shelter said one of their staff members helped to make a break in the case, ultimately leading to Pac Sun’s return.

Alyssa Ginez scoured social media and animal welfare websites to try and find the dog.  Her work paid off and Pac Sun was returned with the cooperation of another rescue.

The shelter said an animal control officer turned the dog into the Humane Society of Lebanon as a stray.

It remains unclear who stole Pac Sun from the facility.
