Tyler Lee, who was treated for a medical incident in Binns Park, was caught with items that were reported stolen, according to a Lancaster City Police report.

Lee supposedly robbed and stalked Franklin and Marshall students in mid-July. It was reported that he rang a doorbell and placed shoes at the front door of 400 block of College Ave, days after he robbed the same residence.

He was arrested after police officers searched a pink and black backpack, where the reported stolen items were found, police said. The initial robbery was reported on Thursday, July 14, when the student found her house in disarray. She reported a computer, wallet, keys, backpack and other items stolen. Police officers noticed the backpack when he was being treated.

Shortly after first reporting that she had been robbed, a resident in the same house reported suspicious activity. A person or persons rang her doorbell at her residence located on the 400 block of College Ave.

Lancaster City Bureau of Police were contacted by Franklin and Marshall College’s Public Safety Department. They relayed the activity, in which the resident found a pair of shoes, which she did not own, found at her front door, the student reported to F&M officers.

The victim confirmed that her stolen items were in Lee’s possession. Lee was also linked to the burglary through additional evidence, police reported.

As a result of the investigation, Lee had initially been charged with receiving stolen property. He was then charged on Friday, July 29, with one count of burglary, and one count of theft by unlawful taking. He was arraigned and was committed to the Lancaster County Prison in lieu of bail, police reported.

While incarcerated, and the investigation continued, Lee made statements that linked him to the robbery. Based on the additional information, Lee was charged with one count of criminal attempt at  burglary, one count of stalking, one count of possessing instruments of crime and one count of loitering and prowling at night. Lee remains in custody at the Lancaster County Prison.

The Lancaster City Bureau of Police has worked closely with Franklin and Marshall College’s Public Safety Department throughout the investigation, and have been in regular contact with the victims in this case. Anyone with additional information on the matter is urged to call Detective Gary Lowe at 717-735-3411, the Lancaster City Police at 717-735-3300, or Lancaster City-County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-322-1913.
