YORK COUNTY, Pa. – A woman faces several charges after she allegedly breaks into her neighbor’s home Thursday morning and attacks her.

The incident began at about 10:00 o’clock in the 7600 block of Glenville Road, in Manheim Township.  Southwestern Regional Police say Melissa Silsley, 47 broke the rear back door window of her neighbor’s home, then reached inside to unlock the door. Once inside Silsley attempted to break down an interior door to get at her neighbor who had locked herself in to avoid injury. The neighbor’s four children, all aged 15 and younger had also locked themselves inside various rooms of the home.

At that time, the unidentified neighbor, in fear for her safety, crawled out of a window onto the roof of her home. She yelled to some persons outside to call for the police.

Silsley had left the home before police arrived on the scene, but returned shortly thereafter. She resisted arrest and was eventually taken into custody.

She was transported to the York County Sheriff’s Office Prisoner Intake and was charged with a variety of crimes including Burglary, Simple Assault, and Terroristic Threats.
