STRASBURG TWP, Lancaster County — One person is dead after an early morning crash in Lancaster County. It happened around 6:30am along the 1300 block of Beaver Valley Pike (Route 222), between Otsu and Brenneman roads in Strasburg Township.
State Police say a green Ford F-150 pickup traveling north on 222 approaching the bridge crossed into the southbound lane and the path of a Kenwood dump truck. The dump truck, which was hauling material at the time of the collision, rolled to its side after impact, blocking traffic. The occupants of the pickup were trapped inside the vehicle due to the severe damage. The passenger of the pickup was killed.

The Ford was driven by Kevin Grove of Quarryville. The name of the deceased has not been released. The dump truck was driven by Michael Martin of Ephrata.
Both drivers were transported to the hospital officials say, no word on their condition. The Lancaster County coroner was called to the scene sometime after 7:30 a.m.

Route 222 is closed in the area, with fire police crews directing traffic around the area.
