CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn — New York Police Department identified two people who were gunned down early Monday morning at Brooklyn's J'Ouvert celebration as 17-year old Tyreke Borel and 22-year old Tiarah Poyau, PIX11 reported.

Four others were injured when at least three different shootings and a stabbing occurred during the overnight celebration. Police first responded around 3:50 a.m. to reports of a man and woman being shot near Empire Boulevard and Flatbush Avenue.

Borel was the first of the two victims to be shot. The 17-year-old was discovered along with a 72-year-old woman suffering a gunshot wound to her arm.

Both were transported by EMS to Kings County Hospital, where the teenager was pronounced dead.

Less than an hour later and one block away, police responded to reports of a shooting in front of 44 Empire Blvd, PIX11 reported.

Poyau had a gunshot wound to her face and was also transported King County Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Both victims were from Brooklyn. No arrests have been made.

A third shooting at Clarkson and Rogers avenues resulted in a man in his 20s being shot in the leg.

And a woman was stabbed just before 5 a.m. at Empire Boulevard and Ocean Avenue. Her condition is not known.

A sixth victim, PIX11 reported, was also injured by shattered glass.

The violence erupted in the "heart of J'Ouvert," police said.

The controversial celebration has been marred by violence in recent years.

The city announced earlier this year that it would double the amount of officers patrolling the event celebrating Caribbean culture after Carey Gabay, a top aide to Gov. Cuomo, was fatally shot last year while passing by the celebration.

Five people have been detained in connection to Gabay's killing — with the last arrest occurring late last week.
