HOTTER & MUGGIER: The heat is back for the region starting today, and a gradual increase in humidity takes place through the middle of the week. The humidity increases only a tiny bit today, with highs in the middle 80s to 90 degrees. Wednesday is still hot under partly cloudy skies. Highs once again hover near the 90 degree mark. It feels quite muggy, and the humidity levels turn oppressive by Thursday. More 90s are expected, with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s. A stray thunderstorm or two is possible later during the day, but most should stay dry.
WEEKEND OUTLOOK: The heat and humidity continue into the first half of the weekend. Friday and Saturday highs are near 90, and then in the lower to middle 90s. There is the chance for a few thunderstorms later during the day on Saturday with the next system. Cooler and less humid air works in on Sunday. It’s sunny, with temperatures still on the warm side, in the middle 80s.
NEXT WEEK: Plenty of sunshine remains for early next week. The humidity is back to comfortable levels Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures still run a bit above seasonable averages for this time of year. Expect afternoon high temperatures in the lower to middle 80s.
