LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. – Ephrata Police were dispatched shortly before 6:30 p.m. to assist with an unconcious person at a farm in the 800 block of Glenwood Drive in Ephrata Township.
Police arrived and found that a six year old boy had his neck crushed between the frame and the bed of a dump truck that was being lowered. An adult family member had raised the bed to dump feed for cows and then attempted to lower it with feed remaining in it.
When the bed would not go down all the way the boy was discovered trapped between the frame and bed. The child was unconscious and was flown by helicopter to a trauma unit.
