WEST MANCHESTER TWP., Pa. -- Crowds watched as pigs raced around an obstacle course in the Hot Dog Pig Races at the York Fair on Sunday.

The pigs jumped over hurdles and ran through tunnels.

Dachshunds also competed in the races.

The exhibit travels to about 40 fairs each year. This is its sixth year in York County.

The operators said the racing pigs are part of the show for about 12 weeks but then grow too big to take part.

David Feimster, the owner of Hot Dog Pig Races, said, "The pigs we can train in just about a week. It's a matter of teaching them where there's food and teaching them certain sounds for instance go get some food. The dogs take about three months."

The Hot Dog Pig Races will be at the York Fair through Friday.
