WEST LAMPETER TWP., Lancaster Pa. — A Strasburg woman is facing charges in Lancaster County Court for sending nude photographs of herself to a male student in 2014.
Mattie Jo Evans, 26, waived a preliminary hearing Friday in Willow Street. In turn, District Judge William Benner ordered Evans face these charges in county court: felony disseminating obscene materials to minors and misdemeanor corruption of minors.
Evans was a substitute teacher in the county when she sent about 20 photos to a student during the 2014-15 school year. The student was 16 at the time, according to Assistant District Attorney Janie Swinehart, lead prosecutor.
West Lampeter Township police were contacted after a third party became aware of the photos.
No physical contact is alleged in the charges.
Evans is free on $25,000 unsecured bail until her next court appearance.
West Lampeter Township police Officer Steven Heinly filed charges.
