YORK, Pa.-- Local High Schools are joining the fight against cancer through their football team's accomplishments.]

Touchdowns Against Cancer, a national program created in partnership between MaxPreps, PLEDGE IT and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Fans can pledge to donate for every touchdown their team scores from September 15 - October 1. Teams will compete to see whose touchdowns raise the most to help defeat childhood cancer!

A number of local high schools are participating in the program, including Central York High School.

Tucker Haas, a current sophomore at Central York, successfully defeated childhood cancer. He has served as a rallying point for the team.

This season, a youth football player at Central York named Ayden, was diagnosed with brain cancer. The football team has dedicated their season to him, along with their Touchdowns Against Cancer campaign.

Today on FOX43 Morning News, Scott Shirley from PLEDGE IT, and Central York Football Coach Josh Oswalt will stop by the show to offer details on how you can donate and support the cause.

For more information or to donate, you can visit the Touchdowns Against Cancer site here.
