Trio charged after luring man to home, robbing him
STEELTON, Pa.– Police have arrested and charged a trio that were involved in a luring and robbery.
Josephine Kiger, John Kiger and Talisha Brandao are charged with robbery, kidnapping, criminal conspiracy, simple assault and intimidation of a victim after the September 9th robbery.
Police responded to a call from a victim claiming that he had been robbed. He told police that he had met Josephine Kiger through OKCupid.com, an online dating site just a few weeks earlier. After living with her for a few weeks, Josephine kicked the victim out of the house on September 6 for owing her $400. Kiger’s husband, John, had not lived in the home for several months.
On September 9, she texted the victim asking him to come to the residence in the 700 block of Pine Street “to talk about their relationship.”
Upon arrival, the victim and Josephine sat at the kitchen table and had a conversation. She yelled “NOW!” and Brandao and John Kiger came up from the basement. John had a baseball bat in his hands.
At this time, they told the victim that he shouldn’t have stole from Josephine, and told him to hold up his arms while Brandao took his wallet. She took $183 from it, and handed it to Josephine. They also took his phone, claiming they could get $200 for it.
After finding bank cards on his person, the trio led the victim to the vehicle, and headed to the Sheetz on Lindle Rd. in Swatara Township so that the victim could go to an ATM to retrieve more money. When the group arrived at the Sheetz, the victim was able to run from the vehicle to the inside of the store to make a call to police.
