HARRISBURG, Pa.-- Hayrides, old-time games and apple pie were enjoyed by all at Fort Hunter Day in Harrisburg on Sunday.
The free fall festival highlights past ways of life along the Susquehanna River.
Attendees enjoyed demonstrations of life from the 18th and 19th centuries, toured the Fort Hunter Mansion and listened to period music from strolling musicians.
"I think we're in our 59th year this year, to celebrate the history of the area. So, we want people to come out and have a nice day along the river and enjoy old-time ways, which we've often forgotten about. We even have an area here where kids can just sort of play with some old-time games, I think it's great because it's a fun way to learn," says Julia Hair, Manager of Fort Hunter Park.
The Susquehanna Folk Music Society provided music for the event. Whiskey Sunday and The Steve Rudolph Quintet performed as well.
