ATLANTA, Ga.– Shipping giant UPS is planning to hire 95,000 workers in anticipation of the upcoming holiday shopping season.

“We’re ready to kick off our annual holiday hiring process, and need lots of great people for various positions on all shifts across the country,” said Myron Gray, President, U.S. Operations. “UPS delivers the holidays, and we also deliver some of the best temporary jobs in the country for tens of thousands of Americans.”

According to Gray, that number is up from last year, when UPS hired 93,000 people for temporary jobs during its busiest season. UPS is looking for full and part-time seasonal positions, primarily package handlers and driver helpers. Pay for seasonal workers ranges from just over $10.00 an hour, to $30.00 an hour.

Roughly 37-percent of seasonal hires in the last three years have eventually been hired permanently.

Interested job seekers can apply for holiday season opportunities by visiting www.UPSjobs.com. Applicants must apply online. UPS will also be recruiting on campuses at upcoming NCAA college football games this fall.
