YORK COUNTY, Pa. – A bomb threat forced the evacuation of the Eastern York Middle School early Tuesday afternoon. Lower Windsor Township Police responded to the school at about 12:46 p.m. after school officials discovered a written bomb threat.

Township police assisted by State Police, CSX Transportation Police, State Capitol Police and K-9 units searched the entire building.  Nothing was found.

School District officials dismissed students Tuesday afternoon as scheduled, but students were not allowed to re-enter the building. They were allowed access between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to pick up any belongings that were left behind. School principal Keith Shoemaker made parents and guardians aware of the situation on the districts webpage.

Classes will resume as normal on Wednesday.  The investigation into the incident continues.
