2-year-old girl dies after vehicle accident in Lancaster County

West Earl Township, Lancaster County, Pa. — West Earl Police are investigating an incident which occurred on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 10:15 on the property of a residence in the 300 Block of South Farmersville Road.

Initial reports indicated a 2-year-old girl was pinned between a vehicle and a barn.  Upon arrival officers found the girl had been struck by a vehicle on the property, near a barn, at the residence.

Preliminary investigation indicates the 2-year old-girl, from Ephrata, PA, was struck by a Dodge Caravan operated by a 23-year-old female from Terre Hill, PA.   Investigation indicates the driver of the van was related to the 2-year-old girl.

The 2-year-old girl was transported to Lancaster General Hospital, by ambulance.  She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Investigation into the cause of the incident is ongoing.
