Spring Garden Township Police investigate rash of weekend home burglaries

YORK COUNTY, Pa. – The Spring Garden Township Police Department is investigating a series of burglaries and attempted burglaries that occurred last weekend.  Police responded to multiple calls Saturday, September 17 in the 1400 block of E. Philadelphia Street.

At 05:21 a.m. police were called to a home in the 1400 block of E. Philadelphia Street for a reported burglary to a detached garage.  The victim reported that unknown actor(s) had unlawfully entered their garage and rummaged through their vehicles and took a handgun from one of the vehicles.

At 07:29 a.m. police were notified a burglary attempt at a  home in the 1400 block of E. Philadelphia Street.  Police were on scene investigating other burglary attempts in the area at the time.  The victim reported finding two window screens pushed up on two windows to the home.

Also at 07:29 a.m. police were called to a home in the 1400 block of E. Philadelphia Street for a reported attempted burglary.  The victim reported they found a door to the home propped opened, however, it appeared that nothing was missing at the time of the initial investigation.

At 07:36 hours, police were called to a home in the 1500 block of Wayne Avenue for a reported burglary. The victim reported that unknown actor(s) had forced open a window to gain entry to the home and stole several items.

And then on Monday, September 19,  at 09:23 a.m., police were called to a home in the 900 block of Summit Circle South for a reported attempted burglary.  The victim had video footage of an unknown actor approach their front door during the early morning hours.
