Steelton woman allegedly smoking marijuana with unrestrained children in her car
STEELTON, Pa. – A Steelton mother faces charges after police find her allegedly smoking marijuana in a school parking lot in front of her children over the weekend.
A Swatara Township Police officer approached Shanayia Shaw, 33, on Saturday, September 17, while she was seated in the front passenger seat of a vehicle parked at Steelton-High Elementary School in the 200 block of Reynders Street. The officer noticed the odor of burning marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The officer also saw two young children, not in a restraint system, standing in the backseat. It was determined that Shaw had been smoking marijuana in the presence of the two children.
Shaw was arraigned today and charged with Endangering Welfare of Children, Possession of Small Amount of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
