HARRISBURG, Pa. - Legislation that allows ridesharing apps like Uber to operate in the Philadelphia area expires on September 30 and a certificate that allows Uber in other parts of the state expires in January of 2017.
An Uber spokesman says they are hopeful legislation will pass soon that will allow ridesharing apps to be legal across the state.
"I'm very social so I go out with my friends 3-4 times a week if not more. If I did not have that option I would not be happy," said Terrell Martin.
Senate Bill 984 has been drafted and could be brought up during general assembly next week.
