Police: Former English teacher sent nude photos of herself to student
BERKS COUNTY, Pa. – A Berks County high school teacher, Stephanie France Luckey, 37, is charged with having inappropriate contact with a 17-year-old male student. Luckey formerly taught English at Muhlenberg High School.
The charge stems from an investigation that began on June 13 by the Berks County District Attorney’s Child Abuse Unit after receiving a Child Abuse Complaint from Child-line and the Berks County Children and Youth Services.
On June 20 and July 13, Berks County Detectives conducted forensic interviews with the victim, who told them that from April through June Luckey created a private twitter account with the teenager so she could privately converse directly with him.
During this time period, the conversations between the teen and Luckey turned sexual in nature. She sent the victim five to ten partially nude and nude photographs of herself. She also sent a video recording of herself performing a sexual act. Furthermore, he disclosed that Luckey and he would kiss in her classroom after school.
On July 5, detectives conducted an interview with Lucky. During the interview, she confirmed the aforementioned allegations and did admit to the offenses.
On August 4, Luckey submitted her resignation to the Superintendent of Schools, at the Muhlenberg School District.
On Monday, detectives obtained a warrant of arrest for Luckey. She surrendered today to detectives at the Berks County District Attorney’s Detective office. She is charged with Unlawful Contact with Minor and Corruption of Minors.
