Police identify body of man discovered in creek in suburban Harrisburg

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. –  Swatara Police responded to Spring Creek  at about 9:38 a.m. near the Greenbelt parking area for a report of a deceased male found in the creek.  The body was discovered by a person walking the trail.

Detectives have identified the man as 69 year old William Pettis, from Venice Beach, California. Pettis had traveled to the area from California via bus for a family function. Family members told police that Pettis suffered from Dementia.
