COOL, BREEZY, DAMP END TO SEPTEMBER

Flood Watch until Friday morning only includes York, Adams, and Franklin Counties.    Additional rain in the watch area may exceed one inch, therefore, minor flooding is possible but flooding threat has diminished for the rest of the area.   Occasional light showers and drizzle expected to continue through the day and evening. Breezy winds out of the east keeps temperatures cool in the 60s.

SOGGY NIGHT FOR FOOTBALL

Be prepared for damp conditions at area football games.  You’ll need the raincoat and possibly the umbrella.  Fields and parking lots are wet and muddy so boots may also be needed.  Temperatures will hold steady in the upper 50s to near 60 degrees through the evening.

WEEKEND SLOW TO IMPROVE

With the system slow to lift out of the area, conditions will not improve rapidly. Clouds are stubborn for much of Saturday with just a few isolated showers. High temperatures are held in the 60s to near 70 without much sunshine. The second half of the weekend, a shift in the winds will pull in some drier air. This allows the clouds to break enough to produce peaks of sunshine. Can’t rule out a stray shower or two but most of the area stays dry. With the added sunshine, temperatures respond to the lower and possibly middle 70s.

NEXT WEEK OUTLOOK

A mainly dry day Monday with only a small shot for a rogue shower to pop up. Temperatures are mild in the lower and middle 70s under partly sunny skies. Sunshine expected for Tuesday with clouds still mixing in from time to time. Highs are in the lower 70s. More sunshine for Wednesday, however, temperatures are more seasonable in the 60s.
