Pennsylvania state schools end strike with professors

New playground being built in Lancaster County

EAST HEMPFIELD TWP., Pa . – For three years  a group of volunteers in East Hempfield Township have been planning to build the Amos Herr Dream Park. The park will replace the old one that was not safe anymore and was not handicap accessible. Despite the rain, hundreds of volunteers have come out to build the park.

“Just overwhelmed that last night and today people still came out as scheduled. Even more people came out last night than what we expected. I think it just shows the commitment and that people understand the value of being a part of the community,” said Kristina Newport , Co-Chair.

“This is just a brother/sister relationship you get in with these people. It’s a ton of fun,” said Kevin Havice, volunteer.

They still need volunteers. The build will last 8:00am – 8:00pm through Sunday October 2. A grand-opening is scheduled for October 23 at 2:00pm.
