Eastern York High School evacuated for written bomb threat
According to Eastern York School District, Eastern York High School was evacuated at mid-morning on Friday, Sept. 30.
Lower Windsor Township Police Department confirmed that they were on campus. The department said they responded to Eastern’s call for a bomb threat, and evacuated students, as well as faculty.
The district released the following statement:
“Eastern York High School students evacuated the school building at approximately 11:05 a.m. this morning, Friday, September 30, 2016 because a written bomb threat was discovered. All high school students have been evacuated to the Eastern York Middle School Gymnasium. The local police department has responded to the scene and will determine when it is safe for students and staff members to re-enter the building. It is not necessary for parents/guardians to pick up their high school students at this time. Please see the district website for updates.

The canine unit trained in bomb detection has arrived and started a search in the building. It is not necessary for parents,guardians to pick up their high school students at this time.”
Secretary to the Superintendent Lindsay Good said the phone line for “the Admininstration Center and Wrightsville Elementary are currently down. Please use phone number 717-252-3400. We are currently working on repairing the service. Please utilize email to reach staff at Wrightsville and administration until phone service has been restored.”
