TO START OUR WEEK: Clouds clear out for partly to mostly sunny skies Monday, allowing temperatures to rise into the lower 70s. The skies will remain mostly clear heading into the overnight, letting lows dip into the low 50s for most of the area. Tuesday looks much the same, though slightly cooler for your high.

THEY DON’T STAY GONE FOR LONG: Cloud cover returns Wednesday and really builds in heading into the weekend. Lows will trend warmer because of the clouds keeping the heat in, but highs won’t go as far. We’ll say upper 60s for Wednesday and Thursday, with slightly cooler temperatures for the weekend.

KEEPING AN EYE ON MATTHEW: A few models are starting to come together for Matthew’s path, taking the storm along the Carolina coastline on Saturday and then rushing off into the Atlantic. Others still have Matthew riding along the Eastern Seaboard. It’s still too early to call it, but what we likely will see regardless is higher winds, cooler temperatures and a lot of cloud cover for the weekend. We’ll continue to monitor and keep you updated.

Have a great rest of your day!
