Harrisburg Police said that they arrested Larry Cathey on Saturday, Oct. 1 for a report of domestic abuse.

Police said they responded to a call Friday, Sept. 30 on the 1st block of 60 Balm Street around 5:43 p.m. When police arrived, they found a woman sitting in the hallway next to an apartment doorway.

The victim was wearing a t-shirt covered in dried blood, police report, and had dried blood on her face. The victim was weak from the loss of blood and was not able to walk due to her injuries.

She told police officers she had an argument with her roommate Cathey. Police were told that Cathey allegedly stabbed the victim with scissors, a kitchen knife, and he struck her in the head with a hammer multiple times. The victim, police report, she was transported to Hershey Medical Center by EMS.

Harrisburg police said they then went to another apartment, which is where they found Cathey lying in bed. He was taken into custody without incident, police said. Officers were able to locate a bloody hammer, knife and a pair of scissors in the kitchen.

Cathey was charged with one count of Criminal Attempt Homicide, one count of Aggravated Assault, and one count of Unlawful Restraint.
