LANCASTER, Pa. -On Monday October 3, at approximately 10:42 PM, Lancaster City Police were dispatched to 234 N. Reservoir Street for an unknown type 911 call. While en-route to the scene, the responding officers were advised by the dispatcher that there was a report of a stabbing victim at the scene. When the officers arrived, the suspect had fled and they found two victims.
One victim, a 35 year-old Lancaster woman, sustained a stab wound to the face. The second victim, a 57 year-old Lancaster man, sustained lacerations to the hands. Both victims are residents of 234 N. Reservoir Street. The victims were transported to an area hospital and are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives responded to the scene and processed the scene for evidence. Detectives and the patrol officers also conducted interviews with the victims and witnesses. Investigators learned that there was a domestic dispute between the 35 year-old victim and her boyfriend. The boyfriend became violent and he put the victim on the ground, grabbed her by the neck and stabbed her in the face. The victim also sustained a broken jaw during the incident. The boyfriend grabbed the 57 year-old victim, who was the suspect’s father, around the neck and pointed the knife at him. The suspect’s father attempted to grab the knife and sustained lacerations on his hands. The suspect fled prior to the arrival of the police.
As a result of this incident, Detective Thomas Ginder charged Ravouth Cheng, 27, of Lancaster, with one count of Criminal Attempt at Criminal Homicide, one count of Simple Assault – Domestic Violence, one count of Recklessly Endangering Another Person and one count of Endangering the Welfare of Children before Magisterial District Judge Janice Jimenez. A warrant has been issued for Cheng’s arrest.
