EAST HANOVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Vice Presidential Nominee Mike Pence was rallying in Dauphin County as the deadline for Pennsylvanians to register to vote approaches.
The election is a little more than a month away, and both Republicans and Democrats are hoping for votes in our swing state.
Pence was an hour late to the rally at the Grantville Volunteer Fire Company and only spoke for about 15 minutes.
He came to Central Pennsylvania less than 24 hours after taking the stage in the only vice presidential debate Tuesday night.
Hundreds of people showed their support at Gov. Mike Pence's rally.Pence spoke about the importance of creating more jobs, cutting taxes and the importance of voting.
Pence said, "Here in the great state of PA. Let's just decide here and now with 33 days to go that we're going to work every single day that Hillary Clinton is never elected president."
Pennsylvania is a swing state, so officials say it is crucial for people in the Commonwealth to vote.
Megan Sweeney, the communications director for Pennsylvania's Republican Party, said, "First and foremost to register your friends and neighbors if they're not registered to vote. The voter registration deadline is October 11th."
One supporter at the rally believes Pence is the perfect running mate for Trump.
Thomas Gamble, who works at Dr. Tom's Leather and Fireworks, said, "I believe that a businessman should have an opportunity to run this country and surround himself with brilliant people that will advise him and help him run this country."
Pence' visit is coming on the heels of the vice presidential debate.
Sweeney said, "The fact that Mike Pence is coming to Pennsylvania the day after the vice presidential debate shows just how important the battleground state Pennsylvania is."
And Pence said that debate was a big win for the Republican ticket.
Pence said, "When we take that vision to every corner of PA and every corner of the USA - that man and that vision is going to win the debate all the way to the White House."
Pence is scheduled to speak in Gettysburg Thursday.
