Police seek to identify man accused of ‘kidnapping’ woman in Lancaster city

LANCASTER, Pa.–Lancaster Safety Coalition cameras captured images of a man suspected of kidnapping a woman in Lancaster city this past weekend, according to police reports.

On Sunday, Lancaster city police received a phone call from Exeter Township police in Berks County. An Exeter officer told authorities he was with a woman in the parking lot of their local Walmart and she said she had been kidnapped in Lancaster city.

The unidentified woman said she was in the area of South Prince Street and Seymour Street when an unknown man in a black Dodge pickup truck told her if she didn’t get in the truck he would kill her. The pair drove through Lancaster, Chester and Berks counties before she was eventually dropped off in Berks County.

Police said the woman resides in Berks County.

Investigators reviewed footage from Lancaster Safety Coalition cameras which showed the man and woman on South Prince Street.

Another image shows the black Dodge ram truck attached to a trailer.

Police are looking to identify the male shown in the photograph and believe  there is not threat to the public.
