ELKTON, MD – Maryland State Police arrest a Cecil County man, 33 year old Saul Hansen, on child pornography related charges.
Hansen, who lives in Elkton, was arrested Friday morning without incident and charged with two counts of Possession of Child Pornography and two counts of Distribution of Child Pornography. Earlier this year, investigators with the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force developed information about the potential distribution of child pornography over the Internet.
As a result of the subsequent investigation, Hansen was identified as a suspect and a search warrant was served at his home shortly after 9:30 a.m. by Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit investigators, state troopers from the North East Barrack, officers from the Elkton Police Department and agents from Homeland Security Investigations.
Service of the search warrant resulted in the recovery of various digital media storage devices. The evidence will be submitted to the Maryland State Police Digital Forensics Lab for analysis. Hansen was transported to the Cecil County District Court Commissioner’s Office for processing.
