EAST EARL TWP., Pa. – A tanker hauling diesel fuel overturned in East Earl Township around 9:00 Friday morning. The tanker was the only vehicle involved in the crash that happened in the 1600 block of Springville Rd. Officials on scene say about 4,200 gallons of diesel fuel leaked. The driver was not injured.
The road was shutdown as crews worked to get the fuel out of the overturned tanker and into another. A hazmat team was called in and Garden Spot Fire and Rescue worked at the scene. No one was in danger. Crews say since the driver was okay the environment was their biggest concern. They were able to stop the leak quickly and took multiple precautions to be sure the fuel would not leak into a nearby creek bed.
